Mina Dragisic , Executive/Artistic Director, started off dancing at the Plainfield park district taking just ballet and jazz at the age of 6. Three years down the road, at the age of 9, she wanted to start dancing again. Mina started to learn about the art of dance and its technique and many styles on a very basic, beginner’s level at GoldStar Academy of Dance in Yorkville Illinois. From the age of 11 through her junior year in high school, she competed with the studio’s competitive dance company and was trained by the G oldStar staff throughout the years. Mina also had the opportunity to work with Lauren Santelli, Lindsey Lococo, Kathryn Gourley, Sergio Lopez, and many more. Her senior year of high school she danced for her high school’s Varsity dance team with a hip - hop routine choreographed by Alvin Ramirez. Since then Mina has exposed herself to the dance world outside of competition companies and high school dance teams. She attended a dance audition at Lou Conte Dance in Chicago for a flashmob commercial. Mina has giv en herself several opportunities to take class and learn from instructors from New York City Dance Alliance as well as Sonya Tayeh, Twitch, Benji Schwimmer, Allison Holker and many more from the TV series So You Think You Can Dance. During her studio caree r she was trained in ballet, jazz, hip - hop, lyrical, contemporary, tap, and pointe. Once Mina graduated high school she went on to follow her passion with dance and became a certified IHSA dance coach. She has had the opportunity to work with York Communit y High School’s Dance teams. Mina co choreographed their IHSA competition routine for their Varsity team as well as choreographed for their JV dance team. The Varsity team made it to State and took 11th place that year! Mina was also a founding member on M eraki Dance Company. She then continued her journey in dance and became a dance instructor and choreographer for GoldStar Academy of Dance. She worked closely with their company and choreographed award - winning pieces on their members. She is very grateful and excited to take her passion for choreography and teaching to the next level and pursue her dreams by starting her own competitive dance company with Impressions Dance Company. Mina loves educating her students and finding that common passion and love for dance with each of them. She looks forward to pushing her students to their fullest potential and watching them grow right before her, in her very own studio.
